    Dr John Baddley
    is Professor of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Birmingham VAMC. He sees patients and teaches at UAB’s University Hospital and the Birmingham VAMC.  He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolious diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine and a MSPH in Epidemiology from the UAB School of Public Health.  He serves as the IDSA Materials Development Committee for the Fellows’ In-Training Exam and is Chair of the Birmingham VA Medical Center Infection Control Committee.  He is also on the VAMC Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee.  He is co-chair of the MSG Education and Research Consortium, Education Committee, dedicated to dissemination of evidence-based practice in the diagnosis and treatment of invasive fungal infection.  Dr. Baddley’s research interests include epidemiology of fungal infections including the study of outcomes research issues associated with fungal infections and treatments.  He also researches infections associated with immunomodulators, transplant infections and infection control and antimicrobial stewardship.
